Listening to Every Voice
For too long, many in our community—communities of color, immigrants, Indigenous residents, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, and others—have felt sidelined or ignored in local decision-making. Kristine is committed to changing that.
She believes in government that actively listens, seeks out marginalized voices, and responds with action. That means:
- Expanding opportunities for public input and ensuring meetings and materials are accessible to all;
- Supporting language access, transportation assistance, and childcare options so more people can participate;
- Collaborating directly with community leaders, grassroots organizers, and neighborhood advocates.

Building Policies Through Equity
Kristine understands that inclusivity isn't just about who’s in the room—it's about how policies are made and who they benefit. She supports an equity-based approach to city planning, budgeting, and services. That includes:
- Conducting equity impact assessments for major policy decisions;
- Prioritizing underserved areas for infrastructure, safety improvements, and investment;
- Making sure city boards, commissions, and staff reflect the diversity of Lawrence.
A City Where Everyone Belongs
Inclusivity is not a box to check. It’s a commitment to justice, respect, and dignity for every resident of Lawrence. Kristine is ready to lead with empathy, humility, and a deep belief in the power of shared leadership.
She’s not here to speak for the community—she’s here to help amplify its voice.
Commitment to Education & Awareness
Education and awareness are key components of Kristine's inclusivity platform. She plans to advocate for educational programs that promote understanding and acceptance of diverse cultures and identities. Kristine believes that by educating residents on the importance of inclusivity, Lawrence can become a model city for embracing diversity.
Let’s build a city where everyone belongs—because the future of Lawrence is one we must shape together.
